Regular maintenance keeps your robot vacuum running at its best. Whether it’s a Shark, Dyson, Roborock, or Roomba, follow these quick steps to clean your robot vacuum:
Step-by-Step Cleaning Guide
- Power Off: Turn off your robot vacuum (and unplug its base) before cleaning.
- Empty Dustbin: Remove the dustbin and empty any dirt. If it’s washable, rinse and dry thoroughly.
- Clean Filter: Take out the filter and tap out dust. If washable, rinse and let it dry fully; replace if worn out.
- Clear Brushes: Remove the main brush and side brushes. Cut away any hair or string tangled around them using scissors, then wipe the brush ends and reinstall.
- Check Wheels: Spin each wheel, including the front caster, to free any hair or fibers wrapped around the axles. Pull out any debris stuck around the wheels.
- Wipe Sensors & Contacts: Use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe all sensors (cliff and wall sensors) and the charging contacts, then reassemble your robot and run a quick test.
